Saphire, Saphie for short, awoke to her aunt shaking her shoulder. She looked up at her aunt's tired eyes and understood immediately. She slowly pulled herself from her bed and packed up her things. She was half asleep, so she didn't exactly understand the whole of the situation. That is, until her aunt kissed her goodbye on her forehead and wished her the best, tears forming in her eyes. Saphie's blue eyes shimmered sadly, but she knew that neither of them had a choice in the matter. She was chosen to go, and she must protect the princes. A couple tears escaped the corner of her eyes, but she quickly wiped them away and turned to leave, heading towards the castle, following her escort. In on hand, she held her bag firmly on her shoulder. In the other, she clutched her blue heart necklace tightly, afraid that if she let go, the fabric of reality would fall apart at the seems.
The knots in her stomach, tightened as she approached the castle gates. They were still a ways off in the distance, but she could see them from where she was. The castle was big and georgous. For a moment, she felt overwhelmed and needed to sit, for it made her dizzy and a little queezy. She saw another girl heading towards the castle, a necklace similar to her own, only a different color, dangled from her neck, marking her as another guardian. Up at the castle gates, she saw a flash of soft brown hair, and she could hear voices of the princes. Something about oily stairs. She took a deep breath and once again, headed towards the castle, being the second to arrive.
