Rocks and dirt from the ceiling of the small tunnel rained down upon Don Richards and his daughter Sue as they slowly crawled down the vertical and tight space, eventually exiting through the portal-like hole at the end. After several minutes of crawling they eventually wound up in a much larger cavern than the one they had been in previously, though the present cavern was almost totally devoid of light. Don and Sue immediately began to feel the walls in an attempt to find another entryway to escape through. What Don and Sue did not realize was that it was now daylight outside, nor did they realize that the cavern that they were presently stuck in was in fact several feet from the back of the house. The small tunnel that they crawled through had taken them deeper and farther away from their home. The current cavern was even stranger than the last, for it was perfectly round and the walls were covered with a layer of slimy, stinking fungus. The putrid and odorous slime slowly trickled from the walls and onto Don and Sue's hands and forearms.
