Sun shone through the thin white curtains covering the window, filling the rooms with light. Mika mumbled something under her breath and then rolled over, covering her head with her pillow. She never really had been a morning person, since she usually stayed up late at night, usually either flying or singing somewhere in the forest. Even so, she always woke up early.
Slowly, Mika rose from her bed and sat up, still half asleep. Everybody else is probably still be asleep... she thought as she stood up and grabbed a pair of clothes out of her dresser and changed. They probably aren't going to get up for a while, since I'm usually the one first awake. Mika grabbed the white brush lying on her desk and brushed her long light blonde hair. For some reason, today didn't feel right. It felt as if there was something watching her, watching her family. Mika knew that one day they would be ran out of their peaceful lives in the cabin, but she didn't know if it would be today, but there was a chance that it could be.
After getting ready, Mika walked out of her room and into the hallways of the cabin. She couldn't hear anybody else, so she decided that they were all asleep still. "I thought so..." she mumbled as she walked into the kitchen and flicked on the lights. On today, a year ago, it had been the day that the two scientists that had brought them here had died. Mika had told the others that they had just died, but they had really been killed by something, someone, that day. Mika hadn't wanted to worry them, so she just kept it a secret.
Mika grabbed an apple from the counter and took a bite out of it as she sat down at the table. It was always boring in the mornings until everybody else woke up, so Mika would usually just wait in the kitchen for everybody else. I wonder what the day has for us today... she thought as she rested her elbows on the table top and then put her head in her hands.
