When Emery had first arrived at the mansion she was ecstatic. She had finally thought she had gotten a break, and Lord knows she needed it. Her life had been crazy these last few weeks, between trying to hold herself together and pretend like everything was okay, her year-end examinations, her parents' social events and above all, avoiding Kiler while doing all of that. Things started going down hill within a few hours of her arrival. Walking down the stairs into the main room she was calm, she immediately had recognized a few of the people from around school and such, she'd even spoken to a few of them a couple of times. Then, while scanning the room casually she noticed one, all too familliar face. This can't be happening. You have got to be kidding me. She had ducked out of that room and back up into her room so fast that she barely had time to come up with a decent excuse for anyone who asked. She spent the rest of the night in her room faking a stomach ache. She knew it was childish but she wasn't ready to face him yet.
Things got even worse when she woke up to a dead body a few yards from her door. And now there was this darn letter. She had managed to avoid him up until this point but now she was faced with an ulimatum: Man up and face the boy who broke her heart or die. That may seem like an easy decision, and logically it is, obviously she was going to face him, but that sure didn't mean she wanted to or planned on doing it any time soon. She felt betrayed and knew that forgiveness wasn't something she was ready to do at this point.
She decided she needed t o leave her room. All of this isolation was driving her crazy and she figured that she might as well try to have a nice time here in the chance that she could very well die soon. She dressed in a pair of jeans and a simple tee shirt and fixed up her hair and applied a small amount of makeup and strode into the hallway. She headed down to the elevator and pushed the button marked with a "B". The elevator made its typical elevator noises and rocketed downward. When it stop and the doors parted Emery found herself in a large cavern like place. "Wow." She breathed, stepping into the dim lighting. The walls were made of rocks and in the center of the room was a massive pool of clear blue water. This was probably her favourite place yet, It was simple and nothing was very fancy but it was still so gorgeous; like being in an underground lake that only seemed to exist in movies.
