Lilah J. Ikuto

Lilah woke up to the regular sound of thumping from upstairs and screaming from downstairs. She sighed and glared hotly at the ceiling before sitting up on her bed. She'd gone over to her upstairs neighbors and kindly asked them to stop their... loud activities but they had slammed the door in her face and continued on as they pleased. Lilah had controled herself then; counting up to one hundred and taking deep breaths but her self control only lasted for so long. Theyre like fucking bunnies... but worse, she thought to herself angrily since she'd never be so impolite as to say it out loud.

Now, as for the downstairs neighbors, they had serious marital issues. The wife cheats on the husband, the husband cheats on the wife, they'd get angry, go at each other then there'd be a creepy silence. During those silent moments Lilah always wondered if they had killed each other but the next day would prove to her that they were very much alive... and still weirdly married to one another. Why they havent gotten a divorce yet still baffles her. Anyway, trying to get them to see reason is impossible. Lilah had knocked on their door for hours but they either didnt hear her or they simply didnt care.

"Rude, the lot of them are..." she grumbled as she lazily rubbed her eyes awake.

She shivered. It wasnt particularly cold but having been under a warm blanket all night only to wake up to a fresh room sort of did that to her. She stood up and walked across to her small closet in search for todays clothing. If she needed to change later on she always had a few changes out in the hideout. It was, after all, her second home. She could have stayed there if she wanted to and avoid the awful condition of the dingy apartment and its loud inhabitants but she didnt want to trouble Stella anymore than she had to. Presently, she chose a pair of black jeans and a green and black striped button down shirt. Quickly changing into said clothes she put on some black flats and made her way to her vanity. She frowned as she spotted her lion mane hair sticking every which way. This simply wont do... Pulling a brush through it she made sure it was knot-free and then put it up in a high ponytail. She didnt usually tie her hair up but today felt as good a day as any to try it out. It felt oddly weird but she shrugged the feeling off. Brushing her bangs evenly she took one last look before nodding assertively.

She briskly moved toward the door and strapped up her rappier to her hip like usual. Picking up the small black messenger bag next to the door she turned to inspect her room before leaving. It was smaller than most places but Lilah kept it neat and orderly as much as she possibly could. She wasnt a neat freak, she just had a problem with finding things in messes. "Oh! Almost forgot..." she muttered to herself as she ran back into the place, picked up her fedora, placed it on her head and ran back to the entrance/exit. Locking the door, all seven locks of them, she jumped down the stairs and made her way over to the building in front of it.

Yes people, she lived right in front of their hangout. It was somewhat comical to see these two buildings side by side. While her apartment complex was dingy, old and falling apart there stood next to it a stable modern looking building. A rarerity of sorts since the poverty around here was so high nowadays. Lilah made her way to their hangouts door and opened the door. She spotted Stella almost instantly and smiled. Catching sight of Abby as well her smile turned wider. "Morning everyone!" she greeted them. Steping inside she skipped her way over to the kitchen and rummaged in her messager bag. She took out five small white boxes and put them on the countertop. She sneaked a glance at Stella and asked quietly, "Have you eaten yet? Are you hungry?" She glanced over at Abby and smiled. "Theres food for you too if you'd like."

The boxes were all labeled in Lilahs neat and cursive letters. Each having the owners name writen on the top. If they didnt want anything then they could always store it in the fridge for later of course. She went over and sat down on the other unoccupied couch. As she sat she let her mind wander to the new treaty between the gangs. Lilah wasnt sure if it would hold long enough for them to finish off Grant but the intent was clear. The desperation had led to this and they had to make this work out. Otherwise, all of it wouldnt mean anything. Over the years she had been alone on the streets, before she came to be a part of the Keys, she had always avoided the gangs. Her foster parents had mentioned stories of them to placate her when she was a bit rebellious but she never did know if they were true.

Poisons.

Sirens.

Bullets.

Heck! Even Keys.

She had narrowly avoided them all in her darkest years for fear of getting killed by them. She couldnt really tell you what she thinks of them because, having never met any of them personally, she didnt really have a clear opinion of them. Of course, her fate had brought her to the Keys leader and its members. Still, to this day Lilah wont judge the other gangs by what she hears. I guess you could say that if she doesnt know the real deal behind something she wont believe it. Facts is what one needs for Lilah to formulate an opinion or an idea of something.

This new treaty would probably require the gangs to cooperate with one another. Lilah wasnt sure if that would go well to begin with seing that some of them disliked the Keys and they disliked some of them. We'd probably be reasonable about it I suppose but to what extent...? She pondered on that. How long would this co-existance last? And how would it end? She sighed.

The things one must do because of that bloody Grant Richards...
