Rai flinched, his face going red as the voice growled out. His mind withdrew. Holy crap. It really was a person. And whoever it was could hear him. He withdrew his mind, his insides torn between fear and rejoice. But he wasn't really scared, no. Rai was never scared. Not in a million years. Ever. He could...communicate. Although, it seemed better to leave that one alone. His face had fallen into a rather blank look, his lips parted slightly as he thought. He began to chew on the words in his head, his mouth working soundlessly again.

What to do, what to do?

Perhaps he should reply. Rai released the wall, gathering his confidence again, and began nibbling on his thumb pad thoughtfully, quelling the previous movement of his mouth. He blinked at the two, pulling himself into the situation again. Or maybe he should see if it worked on the other presence too. Or perhaps if he could talk to both at once. Ha, talking. It had been something so out of reach, but here it was now, right in his hands. Well, his mind more like. Rai bubbled with giddiness. But, this insolent boy. How to reply? His mind darted form thing to thing like a crazed bumble bee, stumbling over itself to keep up with it's own train of thought.

Slow steps forward drew him closer to the two, an eyebrow lifted on his pale face and blue eyes looking curious. His giddiness overcame the annoyance of the impertinence of the boy. It wasn't like they'd be near each other for very long, after Rai went off to figure out how to make chaos.

Can you really hear me? He questioned, reaching out to both minds now, his finger pulling away from his mouth as he concentrated on the words and on the presences, moving closer to the two until his was pressed against the wall next to the opening of their cell. His wide eyes peered in at them, a gleam of annoyance towards the boy who'd spoken before.

If so, he continued, what I am is better than you, so bugger off. He added a grin to the statement, smug. it was true, undeniably so.

But still he was unconsciously tensed to run, in case the boy decided to come after him. One of those things a kid learned after a while. Especially if that kid periodically flicked people off. For the shits and giggles. Running wasn't one of Rai's skills though, sadly. Even though it would have been a very dandy one to have. Especially since he had a face like that. His back foot edged sideways, and his fingers tightened on the stones. But his face was cocky, as was his mind set. His poor body tried so hard to keep him from harm, but the boy just couldn't help himself. That was probably why he'd been born mute. So he wouldn't run around saying everything that popped in his head.
