Subject 55 stood there, feeling defeated and in self pity at his failure to re-attach the door until he suddenly felt something strange. He had never felt such a feeling before, for a moment his perception got very fuzzy, but adjusted quickly back to normal. He felt the source of the disturbance coming from the open door. Then he noticed a very small object flying rapidly throughout the room. Out of curiosity, he followed it with his head. Not that it did him any good, considering he could no longer see, but it was a well formed habit. It seemed to be some sort of flying creature, perhaps a small bird. Shortly after, just as quickly as it had entered, the small flying thing exited. What was that all about? 55’s curiosity drowning out the thoughts of his other problems momentarily.

"Some lights in his room are broken. That could be the problem." A foreign female voice came from the outside the room. What? How? 55 thought, not able to piece together the small creature’s appearance with the appearance of the girl’s voice. He heard the man from outside say something in return, then the sound of his footsteps walking away. 55 eventually gave up on trying to figure out how girl who’s voice he had heard knew what was wrong. His body had almost full adjusted to the pattern of the alarm and he no longer had to deal with it’s annoyance, but the entirety of his recent endeavors had taken their toll. He was currently in the middle of an exhausted feeling that came after an extend period of high tension. Then as he noticed the man come into the room with what appeared long bulbs for the lights, his body took in a deep breath and exhaled. Relieved that he would soon be able to feed, he relaxed a little.

He walked over to one of the room’s walls, out of the man’s way, then sat down with his back to the wall. He tilted his head up towards the ceiling, trying to relax, trying not to focus on what the consequences of the broken door would be. I’m sure they won’t be too mad as long as I just stay put. He reasoned as he rested his right hand on the top of his head.
