"I, too, have the mark." He turned his head so that the blue tattoo on his neck could show. "What would the king request of us?" He asked. Alec was nothing if not faithful to his land and his king. He would put his life on the line for it. People asked him if he ever thought of love, but of course not. He was to be a warrior. His father had told him so since he was a child, and had been training to do so. His life was centered around training to protect his countrymen. Then Zane had come in and earned his loyalty, and now he had sworn to protect him as well. And his family as well, but that was beside the point. The king was requesting their services. Forget the gold, he would do it for free.
