Still standing in her room when Emilia returned, Devan watched her move back to the bed, eyeing her plate interestedly. Though when his gaze flitted up to meet hers, a warier look came into his face, as if he was staring at a predator who might take eye contact as a threat. He soon averted his gaze. His tamer's large, dark eyes were almost disgustingly beautiful and innocent... It irked Devan to study them for too long, especially with the way Emilia looked at him. Her shining, brown eyes gazed at him so kindly it seemed as if she held the belief the sun revolved around him - which was not a notion he cared for. Having the sun revolve around you sounded like it entailed a lot of responsibility, which was not something that appealed to Devan in the least. Responsibility was not his thing.
He was roused from his thoughts when the fair-haired girl spoke up. He stared at her without answering for a minute, until finally he gave a subtle nod. At her second question, he seemed to think a moment, pulling worm after worm into his mouth like it was a furnace to directly fuel his mind. It certainly seemed like Devan ran on gummy worms, at the rate he ate them. But for all his thinking, he only offered a nonchalant shrug. Killing was all the young man ever really felt like doing. It still felt so early... but he didn't want to go back to bed now. Maybe he could go out for a quick kill... but it sounded like Emilia intended to come along. He didn't like being watched when he picked off animals, even less when he was in the mood to make a mess of them. It felt personal to him; a quiet place he could retreat to be himself. But if things got out of hand and the blood set off a bout of real psychosis, he could do something reckless in broad daylight without Emilia to calm him down. Quite a dilemma. Though already, the familiar itch to hurt something was beginning to make his mind for him.
The youth perked at mention of bacon, despite that his mouth was already full of food. He rolled his eyes like a child at Emilia's warning. It took more than one bag to make Devan sick; usually two or two and a half was when his stomach started to feel clogged with gummy and his digestion took a turn for the worse. But it rarely happened that he had two bags - or was permitted by Emilia to eat both of them in one sitting. But it was always worth it, at any rate.
