((OOC: I’m thinkin’ that it’s summer in New York, but your character doesn’t have to be in New York – though they should all probably be headed there. Also, pleas delete your post.))

Lark smiled over at her father, Hawkeye, her dark brown hair swirling around her head as she sang along to the radio. The black Camaro sped down the highway and Lark’s father looked over at her with apprehension. Lark rolled her eyes and she looked back at the road, only stopping her singing to laugh at her father. “C’mon, Daddy, ya’ve trained me in precision drivin’ since I was ten.” Her father’s brow furrowed, but he had no time to complain to his daughter as she kept singing along to the radio.

The song ended and Lark’s father finally got the chance to actually get a word in. “Just get us to S.H.I.E.L.D. HQ in one peace, please.” Lark sighed and her smile dropped for a moment. She turned down the volume on the radio, not wanting to listen to the incessant voice of the host. She looked back over to her father with an almost pleading look. “Can you remind me again why I have to go to HQ?”

Lark’s father chuckled at his daughter’s pleading look. “They just want to assess what abilities you guys have.” Lark sighed, but then realized what her father had said and looked up at him with a questioning look. “You guys?” she asked incredulously. “As in more than one?” Her father looked back at her with an apologetic look. “The other agents. The other Avengers. They – er – have kids too.” Lark sighed loudly and said quietly under her breath, “Oh goody, a meet-n’-greet.” Her father heard this laughed at her, but only replied with, “Sorry, Larky,” and that was the end of their conversation.

Lark pulled the Camaro up to the S.H.I.E.L.D. building and got out of the car, grabbing her duffel bag out of the trunk and throwing the keys to one of the drivers standing outside of the building. Lark stepped up next to her father and batted her eyelashes up at him. “I promise to apply for colleges if you let me leave.” Her father simply chuckled and stated, “Just like your mother.” He paused a moment and then looked down at her, pointing a finger in her face. “Who, by the way, yelled at me because you haven’t applied to any colleges yet.”

Lark sighed heavily. She knew that her parents were only together because of her. They weren’t married and Lark knew that they were more good friends than really in love. Lark’s father furrowed his brow, placed his pointer finger on her nose, and said in a firm but softer tone, “You’re applying to colleges this month.” With that, he started into S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, calling back over his shoulder, “Who knows? You might even get a gymnastics scholarship somewhere.” Lark was about to call after him, but he was already inside the building, leaving a grumbling Lark to catch up with him.
