"Very well, then. Come in," The magus said, smiling calmly, if a bit wryly, at the mention of Dark Elves, being at least partially a member of that race herself. "Indeed," She continued, going on to address the questions the "messenger" had asked. "This castle is currently revolving around the outermost extent of the pillar's aura. As for why I am researching the pillar, it's a bit of a long story. After discovering this castle and the incredible, self-sustaining magic that keeps it aloft in the air and reinforces its structure to allow it to withstand the strain of flight, I realized that I had found a Treasure of the Unrestricted Magic: the unlimited, pure power that brought forth a golden age countless centuries ago, given form as an object with marvelous properties. Almost all objects of this variety were destroyed during the great racial wars of the past, and the magics that have been successfully documented and passed down to this day and age, regrettably, contain little to no mention of these legendary artifacts, or how they function. Once I discovered this castle of Avalon, I resolved that I would recover the Art of Unrestricted Magic. The best way to do so would be to research the pillars, which, despite having the massive strain upon their energy of supporting the entire world and its boundaries - that is, if the legends are to be believed - have not lost an ounce of their power. If they are not an example of - nay, perhaps even the original source of - the Unrestricted Magic, then I do not have any idea what might be. But, unfortunately, I haven't been able to reach the pillar yet, and perhaps I never will."
