Henry watched the two women carefully. He was now certain that his cousin had no idea that the Luxorian fleet had sailed and this gave him some solace. It would make his lie about not attending the coronation more believable. The knot in his stomach was still there however at the thought of the enemy fleet at sea. He could prevent the Luxorian fleet from landing in the Reach but then they would still be ashore somewhere in Avalon. The thought of having to fight alongside his cousin turned his gut.

He let Katherine continue to speak, she was much better at this then he, as beautiful as she was dangerous. Without her, he had no doubt he would not be able to survive the coming storm.

When Vivian returned he was forced to drag himself from his reverie and offer her a smile. When she sat next to him and offered him a drink he took it gladly though he knew he would have to be careful how much he drank around this woman.

He nodded his thanks and tried hard not to lock eyes with her, it would be trouble if she did, this woman was trouble in every way, and she knew it.

“I make for Caerwyn, to see an old friend. I had hoped to beat the storm, but no luck.” He paused to drink again. “Is there somewhere nearby I can purchase a horse? I need to be on my way.”
