"Of course, it might mean life or death to you, but, see, I'm just an outside observer. So my opinion could be quite valuable." Lurbuk happily prattled on to the astounded scientist. The man was standing with the needle in his right hand and the tranquilizer in the other. They were in the orc pen and the scientist had been trying to sedate him to take him to the lab. Lurbuk had been going on for a while now. "I mean, I won't nag you about it, but it would just make me kind of happy to get to weigh in on this decision."

The scientist looked at the tranquilizer, considering. 'Okay, go on.' he finally said.

Lurbuk smiled - which, he had figured out, only made him more hideous - and continued. "Well, I say go for it, man!"

The scientist looked pleasantly surprised. 'Really?'

"Yeah!" Lurbuk said, grinning. He extended his arm.

The scientist jumped, but then put the syringe away and shook Lurbuk's hand. 'Thanks, you have no idea how much this means to me! I'll call her up sometime after work!'

Lurbuk patted the scientist on the back and pulled him closer. "Yeah, so, how about bagging those tests today?" he asked quietly.

The scientist hesitated for a moment. Lurbuk squeezed his grip on the scientist's shoulder a little tighter... 'Yeah, sure. Of course. I'll just make up the paper work.'

The half-orc nodded, laughing. "That's my boy! And not a word to anyone else!" The scientist nodded discreetly and left thinking he was getting away with something special. Actually he was the fourth scientist to come in here with the intention of taking the half-orc in for tests and then ending up pouring out his woes to the sociable chap. Lurbuk had skipped four testing sessions. Yup. Life was good in here. Lurbuk sat back on the tree he was leaning on and put his hands behind his head. Now if they would only let him out of this display case thing...
