It felt more like flying than falling. There was such a gentle breeze, it tickled his cheeks as he slowly descended down through the clouds until he reached simple pastel-blue sky. He wasn't entirely sure how long he was there, feeling as light as a feather, as though he were simply floating on water. Slowly turning his head to the right, he saw with a smile that his bike was falling alongside him too. And all of a sudden, with a jolt in his stomach, the image threw him back to reality. Why is my bike falling..? Why am I falling?!
Tomasu screamed as he felt his body's weight dragging him back to the earth, no longer as light as a feather, but as heavy as a truck or an elephant, or even a house. He was falling faster than his bike, tumbling through the air, catching glances of the ground below. A building was looming and he prayed he wouldn't be slammed into it. "HEEEELP!" He screamed, his mind too full of fear to recognise that he would not find help here, in the middle of the sky. Despite the wind bashing into him, tears were still leaking from Tomasu's eyes and being swept away in an instant. The ground was so close and the little boy realised he wouldn't hit the building; despite everything, he felt a tiny piece of relief at that fact. With a soft FLUMP!, he landed head first into the prickliest bush he had ever seen, or rather, felt.
But he was alive. It seemed like a miracle, like magic, but he stood up and patted himself down with his hands. Nothing's missing. Nothing's broken... I made it! Tomasu climbed out of the bush that had saved his life with deep scratches in his arms and legs exposed by his shorts, but he was used to those at home and they didn't bother him. In fact, the minor injuries were the least of his worries. Just as he stepped out of the bush, his bike landed in it with another soft FLUMP! But Tomasu didn't move to retrieve it. Shock was beginning to take over. He looked up at the sky, blinking in the sunlight.
"Aki?" He called out tentatively. "Momma?" He said more softly, as though not expecting a reply. Before he could help it, more tears were leaking out of his eyes. He rushed back into the bush and grabbed a hold of his bike, as though it were alive and stopped him from being all alone in this strange place. There was no one around, no one to ask for help. Just a few yards away was the entrance to the building, which Tomasu had initially not taken interest in, as though he were fearful to even look at it. Once he did, however, he could not look away. Like the Ferris wheel, it disappeared into the clouds before he could tell how high it went. He took a few more steps towards it, pushing his bike alongside with him. Tomasu knew by instinct that this was not a dream - dreams had dinosaurs and adventures in them, while this building filled him with fear. "Maybe it's just another adventure..." He said to himself, suddenly feeling very small and insignificant.
