Alex was finishing her doughnut when Jonathan finally gave into his sleepiness. She hoped he would be okay, seeing how she had just performed an operation on him in a piece of shit new york apartment. She was wondering about this doctor Matty kept talking about, although his name didn't ring any bells to her. So she decided on another route.
"Hey Matty," She said, aimed at the kid in the room, "I gotta know, how much do you remember of me, back when your brother and I were best friends?" She knew this wasn't the time or place to ask this, that she should be focused on helping him with the loss of his parents, but when she didn't want to think of something, she always just let her mind drift away. "I mean I have known you forever, but I was just curious. Anyway, want another doughnut while we wait for your brother?" She said while grabbing the near empty box, and handing it over to him.
