He's the only one who isn't totally hate-able out of us. Samantha threw Adena in a hole for no reason, Posidonia rains on Samantha and Flies around knowing more about people than they know themselves, and Adena has a temper to control. If I can convince Matthew not to like that awful know-it-all, we could be friends. He's the only one I'd trust. I find him alone in the woods. "Hello," I say. I explain how everyone else will just hurt us in the infighting, and it would be best if we teamed up and stayed out of harms way. He says that makes sense.
