The sun was shining down on Lily as she pulled her suitcase out from the back of her mothers car. Despite the warmth the sunshine provided the day itself was chilly, a sign that it was September and the summer was sadly over. She let her eyes wonder past the car and over the vast evergreen trees that surrounded the Girls Academy. Cavous Academy was situated in the middle of a wood. The town was about a mile away so Lily knew the academy wasn't isolated or in the wilderness, but when she looked now, she felt like she could be in the middle of nowhere.

She wasn't sure if that was a good feeling or a bad one, after all being in the middle of no where with a bunch of hormone raging girls, its not exactly paradise. Her eyes snapped back to the car when her mother rolled down the drivers side window. Lily's glacier eyes flashed with a moment of resentment. Whether she liked the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere or not, this was where she was stuck for another school year, all thanks to her parents.

"Now behave Lillian, we'll call you once a week to check you're well and keeping up with your school work. Don't forget to make friends this year" her mother cooed.

Lillian resisted rolling her eyes and instead scowled prettily. "I already have friends."

Her mother, who had been wearing sunglasses this entire time, raised them off her eyes to stare at Lily intently. Her eyebrows raised too.
"Real friends Lillian. Stay away from that god awful Lundie girl."

Lily parted her lips to say something witty but bit her tongue and smiled instead. "Okay mum, whatever you say."

Her mother sniffed snootily before lowering her glasses and pouting her lips for a goodbye kiss. Lily gave her one, after all she was still her mother and then waved her off. She waved until the car just slipped out of sight and then gave it the finger. Real friends. Lily snorted at the comment and dragged her baggage into the school campus.

She'd done a lot this summer, she'd cut her hair shorter, grown some breasts that were actually noticeable, acquired a tattoo of a cross just above her cleavage and had also grown a new attitude problem. Her family disapproved of it all and her father had sworn to laser off her tattoo. Her mother had luckily pointed out that a tattoo of a holy symbol was better than the rodent on her thigh that they had allowed her to keep.
Lily stopped herself from pointing out that the rodent on her leg was infact a gorgeous, rich red fox and that the cross on her chest was actually a symbol of all the sins she was going to commit and then hopefully be forgiven for. She had convinced herself that no matter what she got up to the cross would soak up all the bad stuff in her and lock it away. Stupid perhaps but it worked for her. She didn't mention it to her folks though.

Looking around the school she supposed she was glad to be back. It was a place where she controlled things, where people respected her, where reputation, friends and enemies meant something to all the people here, even the teachers. Cavous Academy was like it's own little society. She liked it because of this and she liked her friends...she just hoped she was roomed with them!
