"Jason Oakland, you look incredible!"
The look on his face as he formed the words and threw the compliment into the mirror in front of him, was a mix of the hint of a suave attitude in the greyish blue eyes of his, and a fairly amused grin on his lips. He had already slipped into character, a character who he was most likely going to stay in for many days to come. The 23 years old man had also slipped into the brand new suit which he was ordered to wear, and picking up his black briefcase from the wooden floor, he started taking steps in the direction of the door leading him to the hallway outside of his newly purchased apartment.
"What a waste, getting a place like that right before a mission like this." he thought, waiting for the elevator to arrive.
Jason, unlike many others of the Agency, had always had his own place. Well, for as long as he had been eligible to owning one that is. The silvergrey doors slid open and he entered the massive metal box, nodding with a smile to the middle-aged woman happening to be inside of it already. This time, his eyes not showing a suave look of any sort, but rather smiling along with the rest of his face.
"Come to think of it, maybe most agents actually have their own residence." he started in his head, realizing he did not actually possess much information on the matter.
His phone vibrated, reminding him it was time to leave. He was already in the process of doing so, being halfway out the front door seconds later. Pulling his car keys out of his hidden pocket, his Audi was soon unlocked and Jason sat behind the windshield in short, steering wheel in hands, heading towards the building in which the four handpicked agents were to meet. He took a quick glance into the rearview mirror.
Jason did not enjoy being given a role to play, fabricated by someone else, being told how to act, how to impersonate, how to speak, walk, eat, sing and laugh. But what he enjoyed was of no importance at all. He knew what lay ahead of him, and even if he would rather make everything up himself, this did not change any facts.
The three other pieces of this assignment consisted of one man, and two women.
The man was one he knew, but the two women were complete strangers to him, and the fact that he was going to spend a big amount of time with one of these two as his wife, made him feel a bit uneasy. He was confident in his talent for acting, perhaps even over-confident. But they were all still human, and some people just don't mix well. He hoped sincerely that his would-be wife and him were not going to be an example of this. Jason's car stopped, and so did the engine under its clean metal hood. He would have time for brooding later.
"Right on time." he mumbled to himself, exiting the vehicle.
