"Nothing much to say about my family." I answer, trying to hide my disdain for my parents. "My dad is a locksmith, and my mom does 'paid volunteered' work at the library. Neither are at home much." I didn't tell her that my dad had past severe medical problems that ended up in him getting addicted to prescription drugs, or that my mom was gone far too long to stay working at the library all day and was most likely cheating on my dad. "My mom likes cooking weird things that most people would not eat, but it tastes good. And my dad likes metalwork, he sells his projects on the side for extra money." Which he uses to buy drugs.

When she showed me the text, I let out a shallow sigh and nodded. "O.K. If we must." I started the van, and pulled out of the parking lot and drove down the road. "Oh my but the rain is coming down rather hard." I commented, slightly concerned at the deep water in the road. "What about your family?"
