I open the front up and look at the section of the engine that took the most damage while Ruby answers my question. She sounded unsure, embarrassed, and possibly frightened. My attention shifted more towards her as I continued to examine my van. When she showed me the letter, I did not even look at her. "How odd. She was looking for you and just so happened to crash into my van?" I was a little bit more than pissed upon this realization. That meant that there was a strong possibility that the crash was not an accident. Granted, it could have been, however the chances were slim. But then came the problem of why? why crash on purpose? It was entirely illogical. Perhaps the fact that I could not read into the situation clearly made me angrier than the idea that the crash was staged. This was slightly disturbing to me, considering that there were only two people I knew whom I truly cared for their well being, and Ruby was one of them. Did I place her life so low in priority?

"Have you read it yet?" I ask, forcing myself to think about something else.
