Zooey was glad when he put out the cigarette, but not just because she didn't like smoking. It made her feel like he cared maybe, a little. And like she had told him, smoking was bad for him, and she didn't want to see him dying before sixty because he's smoking with one of those oxygen tanks and a spark hits the tank and everything explodes. Wow, that was a pretty violent thought, she made a note to try and draw something like that. Of course, with someone other than Darrin as the person exploding, so that she could show him where he would be in thirty years if he didn't stop smoking. He'd probably just laugh at her though, but she would be okay with that. Who would take a picture of someone blowing themselves up seriously? Well if he was anything like her he would laugh, since she was impossible when it came to those things. Certainly the "laughing at funerals" type. It was terrible embarrassing sometimes.

Realizing that he might have asked because he had wanted her to stay with the children, she looked down. "I mean, it's not like I can leave you and the boys home alone. You might set the house on fire," she teased lightly, recalling the times her and her brother almost burnt the house down while trying to baptize the cat. Upon mention of a bonfire she brightened up, especially at the offer of going with him. "I'd love too," she answered, perhaps too eagerly. "I mean, I think it'd be really nice, thank you." she looked down when he took her hand, almost seeming to not believe that he would do such a thing. When he began to tug on her arm, she smiled softly, allowing the man to pull her to him.
