It was early in the morning, a little too early, for the CEO of the Lisast Company's daughter, Lorelei. She had been up all night with a couple of friends out at a concert that lasted about 4 hours, then they ended up going to the after party with all the bands which was another 3 hours. She had to sneak inside her own house, knowing her parents wouldn't be pleased the whole outing. She’d forgotten that her father, Micah, wanted her to attend work with him. It was an odd demand, as she had never been to his company before. But nevertheless, she had to agree to go.
One of the robots, made by some inventor at Lisast, came into the girl's room. It opened the curtains to the window in her
purple room. The light shown through the window was what awoke her. Lorelei reached over and tapped a button on her desk, next to her bed. A green light appeared on the ceiling, displaying the time. Crap. She only had an hour until her father would take her to Lisast. Slowly getting up, she made her way over to her closet, pressing her hand against a sky blue florescent scanner. Lights in the closet went on, the glass automatic door opened. "Business wears." Her voice was quiet and muzzled, as she still wasn't fully away just yet. The rotators moved, spinning the clothing to the right. There were two outfits that stopped in front of her. One was a
business attire and the other was a
steampunk-like dress. She went for the dress; the other didn't fit her, personality wise.
She took the steampunk dress out of her closet, grabbing some extra items, and headed to her bathroom to take a shower. It was about thirty minutes after when she had gotten out of the shower, dressed, hair and make-up done, all she needed now was to go down stairs to the kitchen and eat breakfast. Once in the kitchen, she got a simple meal, a piece of cinnamon toast and orange juice. Her father walked in only a few moments after she sat down to eat. “Good morning Father.” She said polite as ever, her father acknowledge her by a nod when he sat down to read the news on his digidiary, a tablet like item.
“We’ll be leaving very soon. Be sure to have everything that’ll keep you busy.” Micah told his daughter, getting up from his seat only minutes after he sat down. “Your mother is still ill. Pay her a visit before we leave.” Lorelei nodded, finishing up her breakfast. Her mother has been ill for a week now, but it’s nothing to serious, she should be better in another day or two.
Lorelei and her father walked into the Lisast Company building about half an hour after they left home. Every employee the two walked by greeted Micah, simply paying no mind to the girl trailing behind him. Once on the top floor and in Micah’s office, he took a seat at his large desk. Lorelei stood by her father, slightly slouched over, rocking back-and-forth on her heels. “Lorelei, take a seat, please. It’s unlady-like to keep standing like that. ” Her parents had always taught her to be lady-like and proper. She hated it, no way to express herself, that’s why she sneaks out most nights, to be herself. “Yes, father.” She gave him a light nod and then took a seat in one of the plush chairs that were in front of the desk.
A few minutes later a tall Jajasal male walked into the office, instantly Lorelei stood up, as did her father. “Ah, Mister Celairphen, please take a seat.” Micah smiled brightly, motioning to the empty seat next to Lorelei. The two made small talk, before he introduced his daughter. “Oh, I would like to introduce you to my daughter, Lorelei.” He gestured to her and then fixed the tie of his suit. Lorelei then stood up and looked at Ithrion, quickly noticing his golden eyes. “Please to meet you Mr. Celairphen.” She did a slightly curtsy before turning to her father. “Father, I would like to go around and visit your Company.” She asked and he waved her off, indicating that she was allowed to go.
As soon as Lorelei was a bit away from the office, she let out a somewhat loud sigh. “Why am I even here?” She groaned, her voice questioning. “This is the first time ever that I was even brought here, so why now of all reasons?” She was a tad annoyed with her father’s sudden request for her coming, without an explanation. She closed her eyes, trying to relax herself before she became too loud and made a scene. The next thing she knew, someone bumped into her, or she had bumped into someone.
"I'm sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going. Are you alright?" A male voice rang out. When she looked up to see who she bumped into, she saw none other than Mr. Celairphen. She hadn’t gotten his first name so… “Ah, yes I’m quite alright, thank you. But I wasn’t looking where I was heading either, so no need to worry.” She gave him light smile, before stepping off the side, thinking he needed to be somewhere.
