A raucous clap of thunder accompanied the streak of light that seared the sky with an emblazoned arc of brilliance. The solitary column of illumination seemed so sudden—instantaneous—that the accompanying shockwave that swept outward moments later were but an echo of its arrival. As sudden as it had come, it fragmented into shards of particular light that hung idly in the atmosphere for naught but a moment before vanishing entirely.

Somewhere, dozens of long Aberashian days west (even by Gargantua travel), a massive plume of debris and clutter erupted into the air as the demoted landed in a heap. The silence that had predicated the arrival was broken only by the sound of a thousand raining fragments of earth and materia, leaving behind it a wake of soothing sounds amidst the destruction.

Retribution had indeed been swift, but perhaps the future might yet be swayed.
