A strange green apparition with static filling its body leaned over the limp body of a boy just barely breeching into manhood. The creature simply stared at the still face for a while, as only wind broke the silence between the two. After a few minutes had passed the green creature picked up on some unnoticeable cue and enlarged its hand, before placing it over the boy’s mouth and nose. It simply held its hand there, even as the boy began to struggle and flail. It only released its grip when the young boy punched it straight in the jaw, causing the creature to stumble backwards ever so slightly.

“Hey, quit it!” Those were the first words that escaped from Nohizar’s mouth as he shot up to a sitting position, rubbing the back of his head while breathing heavily. In front his him the apparition with static filling its body sat on its haunches, staring at the boy with an absurdly wide smile.

”I was beginning to worry the fall had been as destructive as it had been amusing.” The green creature said, heavy static accompanying each and every word, even as Nohizar blinked and stared at it in surprise. It had never been this caring before had it? Nohizar opened his mouth to respond but the green being cut him off. ”Don’t get the wrong idea. I was merely worried about having to find a new partner. I’m a very shy individual, as you know.” Nohizar chuckled slightly before putting up his best imitation of a pout. Suddenly, realization shook him and he got up and rushed for the nearest outcropping of rocks. The green creature stared after him for a few moments, with something approaching surprise in his visage. The boy disappeared behind the rocks and the few moments turned into a large number of moments, which then turned into a long period in which the being was alone. Only after the sixth minute passed after the boy’s disappearance he returned, a relieved smile on his face and seeming more awake then he had been six minutes ago. With a skip in his step the boy returned and spoke.

”Sorry, bathroom break.” Nohizar looked at the green apparition with a smile, inviting the creature to press the matter further, as if something of boundless interest and excitement had just happened behind those rocks. The green creature simply stared, not moving an inch as it sat on its haunches. After a few more moments of silence passed, the creature shrugged, apparently not very interested in the details of what had transpired behind the rocks. Nohizar snorted in response. ”Fine! Then I won’t tell you of the lake over there, see if I care.” The boy said, pouting for real this time.

”Soooooo… where are we anyway?” The boy said, pout vanished from his face and something of a glint in his eye as he looked this way and that, his eyes widening at every little thing that appeared in his field of vision. The green apparition slowly stood up straight, taking its own time to look around. Surrounding the pair were rocks. And sand. And then some more rocks. Some were stacked high, other so low they barely breached the surface topping of sand. After looking around the creature simply shrugged, which elicited a annoyed glare from Nohizar.

”As always, you’re no use.” Nohizar said, as he turned to face the tallest pile of rocks in the area. ”Alright! Since you don’t know either, Razihon, let’s go and climb that, then we can see where we are and where we can go!” Nohizar said as he pointed at the pile of rocks, a wide grin on his face. Razihon stared at the pile of rocks before replying.

”I’m not sure that’s a good idea. I think it’s more prudent to make camp in this area and sta-“ Razihon spoke, but was cut of mid-sentence by the sound of laughter and the sound of small shoes skipping over rocks and making ‘death-defying’ leaps over rocks barely more than a feet high. Nohizar shouted back at Razihon as he continued his latest rock jumping adventure.

”You should leave the thinking to smart-guys! Like me, you dummy!” Razihon stared for a few moments longer, before a sound approaching something close to a mixture of a grunt and a growl that were wrung through a radio with particularly poor reception escaped its throat. After a few more moments passed, Razihon shrugged and set off in pursuit of the laughing boy, who had seemingly forgotten his original plan and was now inspecting some rocks with rather vibrant colours.
