The Valeish

City of Azermaine-Temner Street
Constabulary-Seventh-Cliff Precinct
Investigator-Oleandru Nevitt

Both Nevitt and Desbrook walked along the empty street heading straight to the Temple were Melek was supposed to be. Their lead with Kesster proved to be a dead end. While the proprieter seemed strange, he was just in fact strict. Despite his cold attitude he wasn't their killer. Not only did he say he had not attacked anyone, his wife and daughter testify to the fact he was in his bookstore every night the disappearances happened. With people collaborating to this effect, even customers did, it was obvious he wasn't their killer. The only reason he picked up the piece of lumber was because it was dropped right at his doorstep. He hated messes and was perturbed by the fact trash was littered before him. He then tossed it away from his shop, out of sight, out of mind.

So unless Tessem is their killer, they have but one last suspect, Melek. This type of thick fog is uncommon, especially this time of day. Even Desbrook commented, "Does this fog seem...I'm not sure...unnatural?" Lolan asked a bit distrubed. "Yeah, I find it rather odd as well." "We must be careful every time there was a disappearance, fog was the suspect's cover. Be wary." Oleandru warned as they were on guard, hands near the hilt of their standard issue longswords. As they neared the temple, ungodly screams can be heard and it harmed their vary ears. "DAMN!" "What is that!?" Desbrook shouted. "I don't know!" Oleandru shouted back. "But I don't like it!" Oleandru then drew his blade. "Come on!" He shouted as he ran down the street. Desbrook quickly followed. "It's getting louder!" Lolan complained as they neared the temple. Nevitt ignored Lolan's complaints, he feared someone was being tortured.

When they came close the loudest scream could be heard, it was so deafening the two Investigators where stopped in their tracks before the temple. Nevitt dropped his sword has he placed both of his hands on his ears and held them in pain. Desbrook followed in suit even dropping on one knee. "DAMN! SOMEONE MAKE IT STOP!!!" Desbrook shouted above his lungs. Nevitt wasn't sure what was going on, but whatever made those screams isn't normal. Nevitt picked up his sword and made his way to the front of the temple. "Lolan come on!" He shouted as the Investigator hesitantly reached the front door. "Have your sword at the ready!" "Somethings going on and I don't know what it is!" Nevitt warned as he held on to his blade. He then kicked the front door in as he searched around for Melek, or what ever is screaming. Desbrook entered behind him armed with his sword. Whatever will happen next, will be something that neither men are prepared for.

The admission of the Templarim into these honorable jobs was a long and tedious process, but with everything going on they were pushed through. Though the King had overall authority who he chooses to be the roster for his guard, The Constabulary however, their decision was more of a political move. It will be in the Constabulary that the Teal Eagles will have the roughest time adjusting. Most of the Constables were wary of the Templarim, and for the most part they didn't like the fact they have, what they believe to be, competition. They believe Valeish Law should be defended by Valeish men, not by filthy foreigners. Still The Valeish did their best to avoid conflict with the Teal Eagles, or they may face the wrath of a well written letter, they would joke. Still despite the constant derogatory jokes made behind their backs, the full force of discrimination would be made by superior officers.

The Eagles are expected to follow the chain of command. They are considered just normal officers, not some elite group or high officials. Therefor they are often given petty jobs, while serious crimes where handled by Valeish officers. So for the most part they are given a patrol to roam around in for hours looking out for, whatever criminal act may occur. Sometimes they are made to assist in the sanitation of offices and precincts, or other menial chores. Other times they even have them help the Elderly of all things. This often occurs during the many Crossing Guard roles the Teal Eagles are told to fill. Having them direct traffic in busy streets and make sure people cross these main roads safely. And when they do come across actual crime during a patrol, it's usually a pickpocket. Other wise the majority is simple misdemeanors. Such as public drunkenness, disturbance of the peace, and vandalism.

While back in the precinct they go through drills like the others. Though the frequency of drills seem to be higher for the Teal Eagles. Often Superiors try to hammer the law into them through long speeches. Saying "You are to understand Valeish Law and Protect Valeish Law, that your lives are here for the greater goal of helping others. That your priority is protection of civilians, not protection of yourselves. To abandon such selfish thoughts for the people. To serve and protect and so on and so forth." These speeches are not without some mocking in between. Usually about their colored outfits. Despite this they will soon come across a terrible crime.

"Burn it all!" "Burn it all!" Was chanted late at night. A large fire lit up one of the streets as a crowd of people were gathered around it. The fuel for this fire? Sacriran Books and other written works. They considered this poison to their faith, that the foreigners seek to lead them down the path of perversion and wickedness. That they will be unforgiven in the eyes of their gods and must burn this blasphemy. Many where church goers and even clergymen were leading this book burning. "Burn this Heresy and be cleansed!" Chanted the Clergymen. "Let the cleansing fire rid us of this rot!" They chanted into a second verse. They would continue to burn carts by cart loads of Sacriran Works. As they continued to spew discriminatory language at all Sacriran Kind.

---As for the Brown Dragons, most of the time the other Guards seemed to be watching them as much as the walls. They too spoke ill behind their backs. Though the worse of this abuse came from Steiner, The Captain of the Guard. He remembers how the Sacrirans approached the king and spoke in the God's Tongue without so much as considering all who would listen. He felt such arrogance should be reprimand. He would shout orders at the Dragons often going through unnecessary drills and exercise. He would constantly speak ill and use derogatory gestures when speaking to the Dragons. It made working with the Captain very hard. The other Silver Backs wouldn't dare stand up to the Captain, even though some do believe he takes too far sometimes. Making jabs at their culture and history from time to time. Even with this Steiner still expected those who worked under him, Silver Back or Brown Dragon to obey him. Even if he is mean.
