There was certainly safety in numbers, though to pry on the young and vulnerable like Jake was wrong, no matter how desperate those homeless guys may be as they resorted to bullying and probably even more as they were ready to take on Jake who had nothing valuable for them to take. If they continued in this desperate situation, then clearly they would receive a visit when it comes to Gabriel's next urge for blood, though he tries to keep his blood levels average and not going near the danger zone where he would take the nearest human. Such traits is what Gabriel had taught Eric after he had instructed Eric to bite his neck as he required the blood of a Pureblood vampire to help him recover before he descended into madness, where no matter how much he would digest, such would not be enough. Gabriel could not believe at the time why the incident occurred but he was certainly dismayed by it as it put Eric's life at risk, but now Eric was similar to himself that they both accepted who they were and what they had to do.
He couldn't quite put his finger on why Eric had left Jake, because if Eric faced the same fate as Jake, they'd be a lot safer together out there, and no doubt would have more money between them to sustain them. Gabriel was not suggesting of course that Eric should of done such as such was his choice, but he hoped that if asked, Eric would provide an explanation of why, such was the question that no doubt has been on Jake's mind, especially to confess his love to another guy to his parents, to be rejected by his parents for it, and then getting rejected by the guy he had risked it for. It certainly seemed that despite the fact Jake failed at trying to act all tough from how he presented himself thus far, he certainly had courage and an inner strength, a strength that suggested it was possible for him to learn how to fight and defend himself, something Gabriel would encourage as such was a valuable skill, a life skill.
What Gabriel did notice was the smile that Jake returned, which was the first time he saw Jake smile, despite the topic they were currently on which probably was not what he wished to dwell on for long. "Honestly, I don't know how I feel. There are so many emotions going through me right now that's its hard to figure out what is what", his smile became absent as a result before returning again,"No requests. You've already done more than anyone else would. I wouldn't want to bother you further". Instantly, he would of responded that such was no bother at all, but he decided to accept it as Jake had enough on his mind and besides, he seemed to have gained a smile so he did not wish to take that from him as the taxi continued down the road before it pulled up outside. Gabriel left the taxi out his door that was on the roadside, before walking round to open the door which Jake was near which was on the path side, while taking the opportunity covertly, to place a little microphone in the cab, before turning to the driver to give him the payment, "Thank you driver, ID number 11453, I trust no problems on your end and safe journey", having the microphone there to record any comments he makes to see if he heard anything. Ever since the attack of Eric, Gabriel has become more protective over his home where his guest was included, so slander that could reach his father was not ideal at all.
After the taxi pulled away, he then turned to Jake, "I believe that is the first time I saw you smile, you should do such more often, it's good for you emotionally, medically and a whole lot of other reasons which I will not bore you with. Just smile more, okay", giving one of his own, as he opened the gate and walked down the path to the door. His house was not big, just a simple detached house but for safety reasons had a gate put in aswell as some hidden cameras here and there. Walking down the path, Gabriel then added, "Soon as I knock the door, you will see Eric. Now its his duty to serve me as well as my guests, its what he's paid to do. This is no manor but it is if you like, a five-star hotel, so living here will be different to your old home. I personally do not like getting pampered and having things done for me but I've become more open to it or I'm just wasting my money which could be put to better use, so don't be afraid to ask Eric for anything as he's inclined to do what you ask, or accept him doing things you would usually do...its a different way of life, but if you feel uncomfortable, let me know. You've had two and half months living off the streets, so at least give it another two and half months to get royal treatment", giving a wink, as to whether he can call it royal treatment or his chance for revenge as he knocked on the door.
What was on his mind was how Eric and Jake would get on, because if a problem occurred, he couldn't exactly send Eric away with him being a vampire now, but he'd think of something. At the moment Jake was unsure how he felt, so was just a matter of time still he found out how things would be, before speaking with Eric to see if everything was alright on his side. Gabriel may be 'the Lord of the Manor' but he had no problems doing things himself, so if Jake refused Eric's help, then maybe he'd be inclined to accept his. Certainly was a lot to get used to from what he knows, as he was the same until his father turned him and took him to his manor before Gabriel sought to escape from there, more away from his father than anywhere else. As soon as the door opened, Eric was on the other side, so Gabriel's eyes met with his as he spoke, "This is our guest, I trust you will make sure he is comfortable and if not, come see me, same with any problems you may have", glancing to Jake to give the impression that he knew, before turning back to Eric, "If you could prepare tea for us first, you know me...Jake, you take sugar? or would you prefer another drink?", as he motioned him to enter as he followed so Eric could close the door.
