She stared at the ground for several moments, quietly thinking. "Seems like your life and mine weren't too different. I moved around once or twice a year until I was nearly seventeen. It was always kinda tough on my mom to move around a lot, but none of us kids really cared." Savannah smiled at the ground before leaning back on her hands. "It gave us a chance, on more than one occasion, to try to be someone different."

She let a deep breath go, one she hadn't been aware she was holding in, and looked up at Dan. "The world's a different place now. People changed."
