Roxie shrugged on her coat, and kneeled down to say bye to all of her dogs. The puppy, Miska, lept into her lap and licked her affectionately as the bigger dogs stumbled over each other and knocked the others over. Bear, her massive gaunt Alaskan malamute easily could've barreled through the others but he passively waited his turn as Kita and Koda both fought for Roxie's full attention. Sikku was just happy to sit by her side. She laughed lightly at her dogs' antics, and petted all of them before standing up. "Bye, guys!" She called over her shoulder as she shut the door behind her.
Once outside, she quickly patted her pockets to make sure he had everything before getting into her car. The world was slowing down and preparing to sleep, but for her it was morning. She stopped at Starbucks quickly, to pick up coffee for Ollie and her. The barista didn't even bothering asking her what she wanted anymore- she just grinned and rang her up. Her ritual was the same every evening.
A coffee in her hand, warming her fingers, she got back into her car and hurried off to work. She was almost always just a little early. She woke up an hour and a half before she had to. She had to shower, take all of the dogs for their walk (which could be bothersome, given that they were all sled dogs. Pulling was what they did best.
Roxie scanned her ID, she debated heading over to she is Ollie was in, but figured it was too early. Precariously balancing both of the coffees in one hand, she texted Ollie 'I've gout your coffee. I'll be seriously hurt if you don't stop in to see me.
When she got to her lab, she unlocked the door and placed the coffees and her bag down on the table. She wasted no time getting to work, testing the calling card that the murder had left behind. She wasn't holding her breath- this person was a master at covering his tracks.
