He knew that Lilith was up to something; this morning, when he had been dragged out of his cell and past the others, he had caught Lilith’s eye. The look on her face was one of excitement, sadness, and anticipation. He had not been able to talk with the others for months after he had nearly killed another scientist during an experiment, and had been taken away and locked up in the highly fortified glass cage he was currently in, with sent meals and no exercise periods; Eric figured out, through the body language of the other supernaturals, that they had planned to escape, and from Lilith's expression earlier, the plan was to be executed tonight. Eric had come back to his cell filled with anticipation as night came, his powers swirling inside him, the beast inside him howling to the full moon he could not see. He closed his eyes, calming the rising sense of adrenaline in his body when suddenly a resounding click echoed throughout his room, the metal door he had referred to earlier opening to show the small figure of a young boy. “V-Vincent?” he asked, confused as he walked up to the younger shapeshifter the facility had caught only just a few years ago. As he grabbed the boy’s shoulder, a look dawned on Eric’s face. Lilith is controlling the children…they killed the children... No...they will pay for this. he snarled with anger, letting go of the child as Vincent ran to join Lilith, who stood farther away down the hall with the other supernaturals of his group surrounding her. He barely had time to answer her promise of meeting up at the village before his best friend darted out of their life-long prison, her large scythe in hand, right after the children.
Bounding out after the others, Eric flexed his tired muscles and ran straight onto one of the towers that held soldiers with machine guns, firing rapidly at the other supernaturals. He growled as he dodged bullets, hissing as one hit his shoulder, and made his hands and feet form claws, before rapidly grabbing the metal of the tower. The metal felt like cloth in his hands, as his enhanced strength helped him secure his hands and feet into the metal, and propelled him up the tower with inhumane speed. He quickly leapt into the standing the soldiers were in and decapitated them, twisting their heads rapidly with loud snaps. He hid in the standing before peeping down at the ground, only to see that the girls had already left. Only he and the vampire remained fighting the guards. After some deliberation, Eric jumped from the pit, landing with a grunt on the ground before propelling forwards, using the force of jumping down to propel his dash forward. He ignored the vampire as he rushed past the zipping figures around him, his speed causing his ears to fill with the sound of rushing air, and ran out of the facility, the large gate that had constantly blocked them from freedom open wide.
His heart pounded as he rushed through the woods, his only thought to get as far away from the facility as possible before he came to a stop, falling over as his hands and heels dug into the ground to stop his speeding. He looked around and noticed that the forest was eerily quiet, and that he was alone. Did Lilith make it out safe?! Eric lifted his head and sniffed, only faintly noticing Lilith’s scent in the air. He quickly picked up his pace and ran in her direction, his eyes picking up all movements around him, his ears listening to the scurrying of all the little critters whom were frightened by his presence. Eric felt extremely disoriented- even his nose seemed to be playing tricks on him as other smells bombarded him, tickling his senses as he made his way through the forest. He finally came to a stop as he eyed a tree with low hanging branches with Lilith’s scent sprayed all over the area. ”…Lilith?” he whispered, walking towards the tree as a branch snapped under his feet, causing him to flinch. He took another step forward this time carefully, wavering for a while before finally walking out into the moonlight, bracing himself in case Lilith wasn’t the one who was going to come out from around the tree.
To his relief, he heard a familiar voice whisper his name, and chuckled as he grabbed Lilith into a hug as she jumped out of the tree, cutting her tackle to a stop. ”Thank God you are safe." He muttered, hugging her tight, trying to keep his strength in check. His body shook as the adrenaline finally wore off and was replaced with anger and worry, as his eyes flitted around, carefully observing their surroundings.
