He jumped up like hell was at his heels and technically speaking, it's true. If you count buff guards, weird scientist, and mad dogs hell then yes, hell was at both of their heels. His hand clasped hers and pulled her up and forcing her to lean on the bone chilling bark. Lotus sighed in relief when she noticed that he didn't have his fire ball anymore. That means she was safe...ish. At least from him. Lotus doesn't mean this in a bad way but she planned on surviving when she escaped.
"They're close," Joshua said in a voice that was sure lower than a whisper. Lotus craned her neck to see where 'they' are. Lotus hated the feeling of being oblivious to everything. She wanted to know as much as she can so she can always be prepared for the worst, and at the moment she wasn't prepared in the least. Lotus grind her teeth together obviously frustrated at the moment. She was attempting to find a light or something but all she could hear was the barking of dogs and the thuds of their feet.
"Hi, by the way" Lotus turned to look at Joshua was giving her a smile that was almost awkward in a way. She narrowed her eyes in disbelief. Was he seriously saying hi at a moment like this. They were currently in a very, very, very sticky situation and he wanted to catch up!? Lotus breathed out and closed her eyes a little and restrained from any high emotion. She opened her eyes again and made eye contact. Her grey eyes pierced his hazel ones. "Hi."
Lotus could hear them getting closer and she made an executive decision and grabbed his hand again and continued to run with him in tow. Lotus took a glance around and saw that their was lanterns everywhere shining light in the darkest places. Lotus kept running knowing that she couldn't shadow travel anymore. As they jumped over a fallen tree a light landed on them before they disappeared again. O're there! C'mon boys this way!" Lotus has never ran for so long in her life before so her lungs were aching but she new that she had to keep going.
