βWe probably shouldn't stay long. Theyβll see the fire...are you okay?β Lotus turned to Joshua and smacked him in the back of his head and growled. "Of course i'm not okay." she spat. Though she was pissed it wasn't necessarily at him more like at the current situation that they were in. Lotus picked up a strand of her hair and saw as it flashed different colors. It was all the scientist fault that she had this hair problem. They tied her emotions with the ability to change appearance, of course that appearance meant her hair. They did that so they knew what she was feeling since she always had a poker face. Lotus groaned and let her hand drop with a thud. This day just couldn't get any shittier than it already was. Lotus took in a deep breath and closed her silver orbs.
It was a couple of seconds like that before she was calm and she opened her eyes again. She sat up and staggered to her feet gritting her teeth together as the pain got worse as she elevated. Her stretching limbs were protesting but she pushed on ignoring the pain as much as she could. Lotus grabbed a hold of a tree branch and used it as her support. She coughed again as water was still residing in her lungs. God she felt like hell. Lotus eyed the wall of flames that was just on the other side. She shivered, not just from the cold but at the sheer sight of it. That could have been her over there. In flames.
She turned her head and looked deep into the forest. She knew that there had to be civilization somewhere but she didn't have heightened senses. She was a human with the ability of witch craft at will. "There has got to be people around here...that aren't trying to kill us." She muttered the last part. A look down at herself proved that they needed to take a pit stop. Her clothes were ripped and stained with blood and dirt. She was bruising all over and she was sure that her eyes had bags under them. They needed to stop somewhere safe for the night. Lotus rested her head against the tree bark and breathed out, watching her breath form a white cloud. It was just that cold.
