Batman didn't smile. Bachman might have found himself humorous, but the Dark Knight found nothing laughable about criminals; especially the kind that ended lives for a living. "Friends?" Batman asked. Thinking back to that night in the alley in Wing City, the vigilante was able to put two and two together. "The Russians," he said with finality. This almost made him smirk.

"Some friends you have, Bachman. The Russians are the reason Jackie was able to find you so easily. The one Jackie let live, anyway." Standing next to the door, the Dark knight's ears perked up, catching muffled voices nearby.

Activating the long-range mic in his earpiece, he was able to listen to the activity outside the door:
"...alone."
"I'll pick the lock. Sometimes you need to go low-tech and old school."
"Kicking the door down works just as well."

Three voices, probably more people behind them. Batman had to think of a plan, and fast. He didn't expect Jackie to be here so soon. "They're here," Batman said. From beneath his cape, he procured two smoke pellets; enough to create a thick cloud for concealment, if he should need it after his next move. "We need to get out of here before things get messy."

On his belt, Batman activated a module that allowed him to find the signal of and control electronic devices. In this instance, he used it to shut off the lights in the apartment complex. With that, he triggered the night-vision optics in his lenses, peering around the apartment with higher clarity than military-issue NV goggles. Sauntering across the room, the Batman placed a hand on Bachman's shoulder. "Stay close," he said quietly.
