Gunshots filled the darkness, but the detective remained calm. Grabbing Bachman by the shoulders, the Batman shoved the hitman towards the floor, attempting to spare him from any stray bullets. "Stay here!" he said before moving out into the main room where the chaos had unleashed. In the pitch blackness of the apartment building that enveloped him, Batman saw clearly the targets standing in the living room through his lenses.

Jackie Machida and his cronies were facing a newly-made corpse. The Batman recognized him as the young man Jackie had spared back in Wing City. One of Jackie's men was hit as well, bleeding out of his side. It seemed the war was about to begin, and he was standing in Jackie's way.

A pair of low-yield explosive Batarangs flew through the blackness, aiming for the barrels of Machida and and his accomplice's firearms. Should they make their target and detonate, they would effectively rip the barrels apart and render their guns useless.

"You came to the wrong house to party, Jackie," a stern, gruff voice said from within the dark. "Get out!"
