I lifted up a few branches in a large clutter of trees before we hit the highway once more. The town was Austin... or at least it used to be. The skyscrapers that stood around the city were nothing but towering debris. Some of the skyscrapers were leaning on each other and only their touching kept them from falling. I heard a couple of fires in the area and a few car alarms going off. My eyes widened and I said, "It's only been a day..." I stopped myself from being distracted by the massive effects that this situation turned people into. I kept moving onward, trying to avoid tripping over an idle car. I weaved around the car and jumped over the short concrete wall in the middle of the median.

There was a collection of office buildings with their windows broken out of a few restaurants as I kept going. This must have been the business district of Austin. I kept looking around and found multiple cars with their keys still in the ignition. This made me ponder as to why most of the car here were unscathed by anyone to steal it. I was going to attempt to break off the door, but the alarm inside didn't seem like a thing we needed right now. I continued on asking Satey, "So, what were you used to doing before this all started? Were you taking piano lessons? Going to people's schools?"

As we kept going on, there were odd tags from graffiti that scattered the broken buildings and solitary trashcans. Is this place owned by some gang now? Was there going to be a meetup with some cutthroats looking for a fight. I stood still waiting for the tiniest scuff of the shoe, the smallest hint of bad cologne and I listened. "Hold on." Near one of the restaurants, an alleyway next to it, there was a slight cough meaning that there was someone in a stationary position. "I think we're being watched. Could you stay behind me please?" I stated, staring at the alley across the tattered street, covered in dirt and trash. "Come out, whoever you are. We know you're there." I shouted across the lot.
