Xue sipped at her water and waited patiently for Asad to respond, her grey-blue eyes slowly making a mental inventory of every person in the room from the bar tender to the small man passed out in the far corner of the tavern. "Xue, the world has done me wrong. I am seeking to right that wrong... I cannot give you the story here. Far too many people around that may want to... Well, there is a bit of a bounty on my head. I'd rather not cause more of a commotion than necessary." His voice was low and quiet, a tone Xue knew well from planning sessions back when she traveled with the Chi Blockers. She didn't turn her head or acknowledge that Asad was speaking to her but for a short nod that she gave when he finished. "Xue, come for a walk with me. I will tell you my story. I feel that if you are willing, you may actually be able to help me bring a guilty man to justice, and help an innocent man clear his name."
A twitch of a smile came to Xue's lips and she nodded, "It would be my pleasure." She stated simply and then punctuated it with a quiet chuckle, "and I'm glad you've finally remembered my name." She rose from her seat and left the half finished glass of water on the counter with a few coins for a tip and exited the tavern close behind Asad.
To be honest, Xue was glad for the distraction that was Asad's quest. She wasn't in her element training the Avatar but this -these hushed words, secret plans, and dark alleys- this was familiar to her and though such a thought should have made Xue uncomfortable, it had an opposite effect. This was her element and it made her all the more confident that she could help Asad under these circumstances.
The pair stopped in an isolated dead end and Asad leaned against a wall while Xue contented herself with just standing with her arms crossed over her chest. He explained that he had been framed by a Chi Blocker for the murder of a nobleman in his care during an ambush and planned on finding the man and clearing his name. "You do not have to help me. But I would appreciate it if you would. And of course, if you decide to turn me in I will not go quietly. Helping the Avatar is important to me, yes. But my honor, my innocence, is just as important. I've had to kill many people to protect that goal, many whom I once called an ally. I do not want to threaten you, but.. Well I guess you get the idea."
Xue raised her eyebrow at the threat, but an amused smile came to her lips all the same. "Don't worry, if I tried to turn you in it'd be as good as turning myself in as well or have you forgotten that the Earth Kingdom was my old haunt?" She took in a deep breath and let it out through her nose, "no, I'd like to help you out. Maybe it won't take me off the wanted lists but I can only hope that it'll give the others a bit of faith in me." She thought back to the way Keirin and even Avatar Kasumi would look upon her with suspicion and her mind was made up.
Xue looked hard at Asad, trying to tell what he felt about having her tagging along. While he had opened up to her and told her his story, his last statement made it clear that she didn't have his full trust. Not to mention the way he refused to look at her something she had noticed since they had gotten off of the ship. She decided not to ask him about it quite yet.
"We should probably get on our way, hm? Do you have any idea where to start? The Earth Kingdom is a big place and Chi Blockers rarely stay in one area for long."
