Liam knew it was stupid. He knew this was a shitty idea. But he was going to try anyways. After all, it seemed like the least he could do to thank Renee and Gabby for everything.
He took out his book, flipping through the pages, looking for the right spell. A fragment of Zamikar still existed within him. Their combined powers before their separation allowed them to resurrect people provided they had died within a month and they had access to the body. Both of those things were already not achievable, but Liam thought that maybe if he tried to combine it with a spell he could do it still. Maybe not permanently, but enough so they could say goodbye. He never had that luxury, but at least they might.
As Liam found a private spot to set up the spell, he could feel it. A weakspot in the veil. He found it comforting, as sensing weakspots in the veil was a Wiccan thing. He summoned his magic, and began to cast the spell. "Tayrn LeBeau, I bring you back in whatever form I can, in the best form I can, and for as long as I can, so that you may give your daughters happiness and peace. Please, if you can hear me, think of your family, think..."
At this point, the demonic blood in his veins lit up like a Christmas tree with magical energy, breaking through the door. Liam hadn't expected this, and he felt a presence, for lack of better words. He wasn't sure who or what it was, he just continued to focus on Tayrn LeBeau. If all else failed, he hoped he might at least contact her, deliver a message. It was the least he could do.
Liam used this demonic energy to push forward. He continued to focus on Tayrn. He knew there was a good chance this wouldnt be successful. And even if he was, it would depend on if Tayrn herself wanted to come back. If she chose not to, if he reached her at all, then he couldn't force her back. Ultimately, even if what he was doing worked to whatever level, it was her choice.
However, that is when he felt the second door smash open. But not from the outside, because of him, but from the inside. Something inside the veil smashed through, and hooked onto Liam's energy. Then Liam realized it wasn't one spirit, but many spirits. All coming up at once. And most were probably not friendly.
Suddenly, a stream of ghosts overwhelmed him, and knocked him back. They escaped through his portal, including one in particular. One spirit left, but soon he didn't look, or sense like a spirit. At first, the spirit was in the form of a snake, and then he was a human, before walking out into the street as a well dressed man with a cane that had a snake on top, biting an apple. "Well well, humanity has gone far while I was gone".
