Heng awoke with a start to a scream nearby. After a quick look around, Heng realized that he, once again, had ended up falling asleep in an alley. But there was no time for questions or speculation; rather, it was time for action. Grabbing his helmet and slapping it onto his head, Heng rushed out of the alleyway in time to see a woman being abducted by a group of people; specifically chi-blockers. As Heng knew, a group of chi-blockers like that was no good. He had dealt with them before many times at the requests of various clients. Knowing that playing the hero would most likely net him some reward or another, Heng followed behind the chi-blockers as subtly as a man wearing a helmet made from a basket possibly could.
After a bit of following, the chi-blockers dragged the girl into an abandoned building on the outskirts of the village. The last two in the gang were left behind at the door as guards. "Only two guards... Really?"
"So, now that boss has the avatar, where do we go from here?" The guards were chatting nonchalantly, not too concerned with doing their job as guards. "How would I know? I'm just a grunt." The second guard responded, bored with standing guard. "Well, I just figured that maybe we cou-" The first guard suddenly shut up, and collapsed to the ground. "H-hey, what gives?" The second guard moved to inspect his coworker, and crouched down beside him. "A crossbow bolt..? No, this is too small. This wouldn't kill him, so why did he-" The second guard was cut off as the bottom of Heng's staff was slammed into the back of his head. "Well, that takes care of that. Now, time to make an entrance."
Heng kicked open the front door and advanced inside. The house was single floored, with only a few rooms. Before Heng could look around any further, however, a group of chi-blockers rushed to greet him. "Hey, what are you doing in he-" Wordlessly, the man was taken down; Heng swept his legs from under him and knocked him out as he fell with a sharp strike to his head. The other two men, seeing their fallen companion, decided to bum rush Heng. Heng expertly blocked their strikes, disarmed them, and moved behind them. "The door is open. Go ahead and see yourselves out, and take your friends with you. Oh, yeah, the guards outside are knocked out too. One is paralyzed, no big deal. Give him a few hours and he'll be fine." Ignoring the men any further, Heng moved on to the first room he found.
What he found inside was exactly what he was looking for. The abducted was lying on a bed, being watched by a few more chi-blockers. Startled, they weren't even given enough time to strike before Heng had taken them down with his staff; two strong strikes to their respective heads covered that. "Young lady, you are in luck! I, Heng Ling, have come to your aid! The guards outside have been disabled, and I have cleared the area outside of your room! We must make haste; I know not the enemy's number, nor do I know much else about this situation. However, fear not, as I am a skilled and capable fighter!" Approaching the side of the bed, Heng offered his hand to help her up, if need be.
