James skillfully whirled the bottle of alcohol around his hands to the rhythm of Caius’s music as he pours a drink for a pretty brunette. She watched him, smiling and playing with her hair. He poured the liquor into a small glass and placed a slice of orange on the lip of the glass.
“One Ciroc Cosmo for you, belle.”
James smiled broadly at the woman as she picked up the drink and giggled. The accent did it again, making women like this one giggle and be flirty with him. He didn’t mind, it’s just that it almost made things a bit too easy sometimes. Picking up a bottle and spinning it, James continued to watch Caius strum his guitar as the audience became dazed, almost hypnotized as they were absorbed into his music and voice. Years ago, James adorned the same aura of awe from Caius’s melody, but now he’d become used to it. He did tricks to the beat and purely enjoyed it while it lasted.
As Caius finished and removed himself from the stage, more patrons came back to the bar for refills of their drinks. Like always, James filled their glasses and did his own small performances for them, showcasing his many years of experience. After it’d died down a small bit, he picked up another bottle and spun it as he observed the people before him. There were a few blood slaves in a crowd of vampires, not many he was unfamiliar with.
As he looked he saw one vamp gently nibble on at the base of a human woman’s neck. As she leaned her head back James rubbed his tongue along his teeth, feeling his fangs start to elongate. He hadn’t had even a taste of blood yet today, and James knew his eyes were probably becoming a bit bloodshot. He knew he’d get some soon enough though, so he didn’t worry.
His thinking was interrupted as he heard something that sounded like a heavy thump. Turning his head, James smiled. The slightly too big plaid shirt, worn jeans, and the messy hair could only be one person, Ada, one of James’s favorite blood slaves. Apparently someone’d pissed her off and she gave him a whack. Chuckling to himself, James kept watching.
“Suck on that for awhile ya dickhead.”
James laughed more. Her firey personality made him laugh every time he had the pleasure of talking with her. He picked up a glass and poured a small shot as he saw Ada walk away from the vamp.
“May I just say, your one liners never fail to make me smile. How are you tonight ma chérie?”
