Ada strode away from her small victory, trying to hide the fact that her fist hurt like hell. Fuckin’ vampires; her mood was even more bitter but the sight of a familiar face at the bar immediately brought a smirk to her face. James was sweet, flirty, funny and as sexy as the day is long so he was high up there on her list of favorite people to be around.

Unceremoniously she flopped onto a bar stool and heaved an over dramatic sigh.

“Oh Lex, you think that if a man lived for hundreds of years he would eventually learn that when a woman says no she means no, but alas, that’s not the case. Also, did you know you fuckers are stout?”

She punctuated the statement by shaking the hand that had taken a beating from the man’s face. Then she downed the shot with only a ghost of a grimace from the burn.

“My night is going alright Lex, only one unwanted come on so it’s pretty good so far. How are you doin?”

She folded her arms on the bar, gazing at James and then squinted her eyes as if taking notice of something. His eyes were blood shot, he was hungry. If there was one person she was comfortable letting feed on her blood then it was him. She’d seen blood slaves drained dry by overzealous vamps, fledglings or just plain assholes so it took a good deal of trust and insanity to let any of these people bite you.

“You need to eat?”

Cocking an eyebrow at the bartender she smirked.

“Don’t be shy now; I’m a walking buffet after all. I’ve achieved my long time dream of running around and letting strangers bite me.”

Ada smiled and hoped the thick waves of sarcasm coming off of her could be sensed. Being a living fast food joint wasn’t actually on her list of life goals but it was something interesting to put on a resume she supposed. As she waited for James to answer there was commotion on the dance floor that vaguely drew her attention. Ah, seemed a new vampire had strolled into town. Queue sarcastic cheering.
