Leandra stood in front of her vanity mirror, giving herself one last once-over to make sure that everything was just so - she was heading out to the bar district that evening to see if she could secure herself a job at one of the up and coming clubs in Detroit. She had thought the name of the place she was planning to apply at was Shotz, but had neglected to double check with the person who had told her about it. 'I assume I'll recognize the name when I see it...' she thought to herself, before giving her reflection a thumbs up and grabbing her apartment keys and a small clutch.

She was out the door and walking soon enough, every so often giving a tug on the back of the little number she had put on - a sequined tube dress with a sheer and flowing peplum waist that refused to stop riding up every ten minutes, and a light jacket to protect her from the nip in the air. Her hair was down and styled in a relaxed way, some waves dancing about as she walked. Her makeup was minimalistic, and her jewelry was limited as well; one simple ring adorned her right ring finger.

She continued to walk down the street towards where Google Maps had said this Shotz place was supposed to be. Her apartment wasn't a terribly far distance from the bar and club district, but the area wasn't exactly the safest of places to be traveling alone. With her clutch held protectively in her right hand, Leandra attempted to locate a name on the various neon signs that seemed anything close to recognizable. She had been to a couple of the places she passed along the way, but the further she went, the more uncomfortable she began to feel.

A few more blocks of walking brought her to a place she had never been to before, and looking around herself, she realized she was desperately lost. She figured she could find her way back to her apartment to regroup and attempt to find this club again, but her thoughts on the matter were cut short by a gruff voice piercing though the eerily quiet night air.

"Hey, are you lost?" Her feet stopped moving at the sound. Leandra was normally someone who would be trusting, but out in the Detroit streets, alone in the dark, she felt exposed and not in her element. Her head snapped up to see a man in his mid 40s standing across the street from her. His appearance was disheveled and she could practically smell the stench of alcohol on him from where she stood.

She hesitated before responding, "No, I'm fine." Her feet began to retreat from their position on the pavement towards a direction that was anywhere but where she was now. The males voice rang out again, as he took a step toward her.

"I can show you how to get home. Just come with me. It's okay..."

Leandra was already disappearing down a back alley and down the back street it let into, her pace quick. She could hear the guy curse behind her somewhere, and his stumbling movements as he attempted to follow her.

'Why the hell did I decide to wear heels today?' she thought bitterly to herself as she took multiple turns around corners of buildings and down various streets. After a couple minutes, she came to a stop, listening to hear if the man was still following her - no such noise came to her ears. Actually, no noise at all seemed to come to her. Glancing around herself, she noticed that the place she was now seemed to have a multitude of abandoned buildings. She got a cold feeling from them, like they had been devoid of life so long that they could never truly have that warm, lived in feeling again. She began to walk down the street, looking for some sign of life among the concrete and brick.

Her walk felt like eternity by herself, but eventually she noticed some people silently entering and exiting a large building that she assumed was a club. It seemed to contain its sound entirely too well, and the only glimpses she got of the music and life inside were when the door she was nearby was opened - which was exactly why she could only assume it was a club.

The young woman stood close by to the entrance, debating whether or not she was even allowed into the place. She didn't know whether it was even a club or not, but there didn't seem to be much else life in the area around it. 'I can always just go in and ask for directions back home. And if it is a club, I'll just apply here', she told herself.

There didn't seem to be bouncers on the door, and if there were supposed to be, she figured they were either off somewhere having a cigarette or had to find somewhere to relieve themselves. Grabbing hold of the door handle, she let out a breath of anxiety-ridden air, before pulling the door open and slipping silently inside.

The first thing she was hit with was the extreme wave of heat that seemed to almost sit in the air, wet and heavy with the sweat of the hoard of people inside the room. The blonde girl attempted to stay along the border of the room, out of sight and in the shadows, simply observing and determining whether she thought she seemed out of place or not. She figured if she fit in here, she wouldn't feel like she were sneaking in, as the case was.

Leandra began gauging the people around her - a couple seemed to look at her, but not really take notice, while a few seemed to stare straight through her. It unnerved her, and the girl decided to move. 'Got to find someone who works here and see if I can talk to the management about a job...'

But the young woman had misjudged the sheer size of this club, and within minutes, she was swept up in its crowds as she searched for someone who could help her.
