As her apartment complex came into view, Ada internally sighed knowing that soon she’d be alone in her small unit for the day. Well, she at least had the company of the fighting upstairs neighbors. She smirked at her own joke and watched with little interest as some local alcoholics fought with each other in a nearby alley. In all honesty she could afford to live somewhere ritzier but she wouldn’t. The vampires provided her with everything she could possibly need but it was literal blood money and her pride wouldn’t let her spend it.

Finally they reached the bottom of the complex and James kissed the back of her hand, as per usual. He had murmured some sort of French sweet nothings and she playfully rolled her eyes as she was kissed. The moment he floated up and pressed a light kiss to her cheek, Ada felt a heat fill her. Her mind came to a snap decision in that instant. James was her friend; she liked him, quite a lot. So nothing would come to be of them but when had she ever let anything keep her from acting on what she felt? Just do it.

As he pulled away she quickly turned her head, her lips meeting his. The kiss was brief and chaste, something she wasn’t use to. Still she lingered near his lips, breathing heavily.

“Are you..still hungry?”
