Ember flinched when Ace arrived on the scene and... "Shrade, don't you think you should leave now..." She leaned over to whisper at Shrade as she felt a slightly embarrassed and comical expression appear on her face. "I mean, you showed up.. out of the blue and everything, you've embarrassed me and humanized me and-" Shrade lifted his head to look at her, and shrugged before walking out of the cabin.
A conflicted look stole her face and made her bite her lip. Aww, hell, it's not like Ace is gonna worry if I disappear for a few... she sighed before walking out of the house to talk with her former mentor.
....
Once outside, Shrade had begun to stride away from the cabin, his violet eyes set on something in the distance.
On the other hand, Ember was trying to keep up with Shrade. While she was tall for a woman neco, she was still a bit shorter than most neco men, and (as it's something Ember had always reminded Shrade in the past, she wasn't going to say it) short people tend to have short legs, and not that much of a stride. She began jogging lightly to keep up with the violet haired man only to be ... "Aghh! What the hell!" She stumbled to her knees, gloved hands barely catching herself before she landed face first into the dirt.
Shrade sighed at her, "Why can't you just be normal, and just... I don't know... get knocked out with one hit?" Ember turned to stare at Shrade, incredulous about her situation. "What? Shrade, what-" Her voice had been soft, child-like, vulnerable, but then it had been cut off with Shrade knocking her out with a punch to the face. He sighed before dropping to the ground and pushing Ember's hair out the way to stare at a tattoo on the nape of her neck. "I'm sorry, Ember... I truly am, but I have to do this."
....
Minutes later, Shrade walked back into the cabin. No one even noticed we were gone... good... maybe the experiment will be... better than before. He let out a dramatic sigh before settling down on the ground at the far corner of the room. He watched everyone through narrowed eyes.
A minute later, Ember walked into the room, except this time... There was something different about her... Like eyes had fire in them. "Hey guys, what's going on?" She walked, no, she stalked over to Ace like a panther, her movements fluid and provocative. "Whatcha doin, Ace?" She purred and ran her hand distractingly through his hair, then moved away quickly. She flitted about the cabin, her eyes moving from every person's face to the next, as if bored and jittery.
