As the bus came to a not-so-gentle stop, Steven's body shifted forward, his barely conscious mind hardly aware of this movement until his forehead met with the seat in front of him. He jolted upward, quick to place a hand on his head, though mostly in confusion over pain. He'd fallen asleep shortly after boarding, being unable to stay asleep the night before. The door to the bus opened as his eyes moved to the window beside him, deciding to wait for the other passengers to get off first so he wouldn't be caught in the crowd. To think he'd get an invite to a school he didn't even remember applying for, but his parents were far too excited for him to just turn it down. It was supposed to be a pretty top-notch school, after all. From what he could see past the hundreds of bodies that were shuffling through the newly opened gates, the place looked more like a 16th century castle than a school.
"Hey, you getting off already or what?"
"Uh? Yes, sorry!" Realizing that he'd been sitting there a few seconds longer than he thought, he slid out of his seat with a red a black striped duffel back over his shoulder. Pulling his suitcase out after him, he stepped off the bus and followed the crowd with the plain blue, over-stuffed suitcase in tow.
He tried to keep to the sidelines as he stood amongst the bodies of students as the headmaster introduced herself and listed off a number of rules in which Steven paid close attention though, though he couldn't help but feel like some of them seemed a little sinister, more specifically the subject of punishment that would be given if a rule would be broken by someone. Having a curfew of seven thirty sounded kind of early for a bunch of teenagers to abide by too, but rules were rules.
It took him a while before he finally managed to make it to the front of the line and learn his room number. This would be the first time he'd ever been assigned a dorm, but it would be good preparation for college, at least. With his eyes following the paper map in his hand, he searched for room 172, taking a few wrong turns here and there before he spotted the numbered door. He stood in front of it for a moment before knocking a couple times, not wanting to startle anyone by entering unannounced, and turning the knob, noting that it was currently unlocked before letting himself in.
Though he noticed that there were two people already here, the first thing that caught his attention was the less-than-pleasant decor. Whoever he was dorming with had some odd taste, to say the least. He reacted by stopping suddenly and scanning the room with a somewhat awkward expression on his face. "This..is.."
His gaze stopped on the the others in the room and he straightened up a little, trying to give at least a small smile despite his discomfort of the room decoration. He'd definitely be rearranging whichever side was his. "Hi, I'm Steven Markson. I guess we're roommates."
He nearly moved forward, ready to make his way to the bed that appeared untouched against the other side of the room, but he stopped as his foot tapped something on the floor. Looking down, he realized that he'd nearly stepped on someone shoes. "Oh," he said mostly to himself before removing his own shoes and placing them against the wall. He made his way over to the empty bed and dropped his duffel bag on it, then turned to face the other two.
"So who's Arthur and who's Liam?"
