Sandra had disappeared into the vast collection of trinkets and things, not hearing of Mason's purchase. She found a few old books, but nothing worth the price they had it. She made her way to the jewelry long after he'd put the ring in his pocket, and slid her arm into his, smiling. "Are you ready?" She smiled casually, and waved to the little old man at the register as they left.
Back to walking, Sandra rubbed his arm, and they soon made it to the Bank, which was their original destination. They needed money for the electricity and water bill this month.
As Sandra walked up to the counter, she smiled as she told her information, but was confused when the clerk told her that she couldn't get money. "I'm sorry?" Sandra looked to the girl again. "I just put my paycheck in two weeks ago. I haven't used it." She turned to Mason, and then back to the clerk. "I'm sorry, m'am, but it says you are in the red zone of finances." Sandra sighed, running a hand through her hair.
"Alright." She nodded and sharply turned on her heel. "I don't understand." She looked to Mason. "I just put money in our savings. How can it..." She was struck with realization. "The rent."
