Jake watched as his sister pulled out her book. He looked at her for a second, he was worried about her, not that he'd ever admit that. He turned to stare out the window. She shut everyone out, never talking about her problems, preferring not to worry anyone with her 'petty' issues as she called them. He knew that by not telling anyone what was going on with her, it got worse. He looked back at his sister, she didn't have her legs crossed or pulled up to her chest. She was bouncing her leg, it was clear she didn't notice. He felt bad for her sometimes, she had it worse, diagnosed with anxiety disorder and ADHD while there was nothing wrong with him.

"Im amende Jake, honnêtement." she said quietly, not looking up. She stopped bouncing her leg, he could tell it was forced.(I'm fine Jake, honestly.) He loved the little quirks about his sister, when she was happy, angry, or excited, she slipped into German. When she was upset or sincere she spoke French. He nodded in response, not wanting to get into another argument. He looked out the window again, he listened to the rhythmic sound of Lilly's page turning. She flipped the page again, but this time was different. He turned to face her, she set her book down and picked up a envelope.

"This wasn't here before." She whispered, "I should know." She turned it over in her hands, on the other side there was writing. " To Lillian Elizabeth Taylor Anderson and Jakob Mathew Anderson." She read, turning it over in her hands. He moved closer to his sister and put his arm around her reassuringly.

"Open it." He told her. She bit her bottom lip, and opens the envelope. Inside are two pieces of paper, neatly folded. She takes them out, one has his name on it and the others hers. She takes the one with her name and gives Jake his. He watches as she quickly reads it, tears forming in her eyes. She runs a hand through her hair and leans into his arms. He hugs her as she silently cries. He is able to read the bottom part of the letter. His eyes go to the bottom of the paper. There the name Reid Fields is written in neat cursive. Their father.

(I needed some way to make their father a part of their lives so yeah.)
