The still busy city, the setting sun, the annoying noise which fell more and more silent as the sun reaches the horizon. It was still a normal day, nothing out of the ordinary happening for the public to see. Although, that's only in the public's perspective, there has probably been a few murders, shoot outs and other unsightly things occurring throughout the day, all for no one to notice. Exactly what they want.
The calming 'silence' seemed too good to be true, especially for the two mercenaries as they walked the long way back to their apartment, and it apparently was;
A sudden smashing sound occurred behind the two, followed by the sound to bending and breaking metal as the strange mass collided with a car. For James, the sound was deafening; his ability may allow him to hold an enhanced, over-sensitive hearing, but it doesn't stop loud noises from seeming like an explosion had just occurred right next to his ear. Of course, the two mercenaries jumped in surprise to the sudden noise, followed by James wincing in pain as he covers his ears for a few moments before coming back into reality.
"What the fuck was that?" James questioned, bringing his body back to stand straight with his hands in his pockets,
"Looks like someone was thrown off a building," Eve giggled in reply, slightly amused that the convenience of this small disaster, as if a wish was granted.
James hummed in agreement, his face still blank as he looked up, attempting to search for the culprit. Sadly, his eyesight was the same as a normal human, and the reflection of the setting sun off the glass of the buildings didn't help the search either. "Eve, calculate the trajectory of the victim and lead us to the source." He ordered, taking the bag off of his back to access the two masks and the sword for the two to use.
"It's gonna take a lot of climbing if we're to get there quickly..." Eve answered as she pointed upwards to the source, followed by placing the mask onto her head.
"Fine," James had already equipped his mask and passed the sword to Eve, allowing him to sweep Eve from her feet and into his arms. With his legs slightly bent and facing towards a smaller building, he jumped. Giving off a strong sonic pulse from his feet as extra propulsion, throwing the two upwards in order to reach the skylines of the city.
Once the two had finally reached the building in which the victim had fell from, James placed Eve back down to her feet. They both walked forward towards the calculated area of the drop, James had his hands still in his pockets while Eve kept one hand on the hilt of her sword.
"That was a bit dangerous," James called out.
[If Craven is still here, then cool. If he had already left, then James' call was just to check if anyone's there. Thanks :)]
