When River answered Ivan's question and pointed at him, he could feel a smile surfacing on his face. It seemed the garden had a specific purpose in mind for him, and it seemed that it had been tugging at him at every moment of doubt. Whatever was waiting for him at the other end of that apocalypse zone, it wouldn't just be some magic he could siphon off. Now the question was just a matter of what there was to be found.

As River explained the workings of the world to the best of his knowledge, from what he heard and understood it really sounded like the world itself was weakening, almost like an animal succumbing to a series of infections, without a moment to heal up. However what scared him the most was the idea that seemingly regular people could turn into these vile creatures called lords from merely getting corrupted. Maybe it was because it struck so close to home, or perhaps some fear that it might happen to himself. At any rate from all the bad news his message contained this was the only thing that really made him shake down to the core.

It however only took mere moments for that uncannily serious River to revert back to the casual and merry River he'd been up until now, as he answered to the perhaps now redundant question of Rosa. Though Ivan wasn't quite sure which version of him he disliked less, beyond the unchangeable point of him being a demonic being. It however seemed like Wayland had taken a liking to the critter, so there might be something positive hidden within him, or maybe that still is limited to the amount of power he commands.
