Sera was annoyed. But, honestly, did you expect anything other than annoyance when she woke up and realized that there were no hard candies left in the storage for her to suck on? Idiots, she was the one that went out and killed things, and yet others stole her loot? How frustrating, how annoying! Everyone knew about her chronic dry mouth, xerostomia or whatever they called it, one of the side effects of her Combustion Module implanted into the palm of her hand. More than just some tech thing, it was heavily integrated to her nerves, feeling like and acting like a fifth limb, fully under her control. Except, well, when emotions ran high. And a Sera without her candy was very angry indeed - a spark of flame, a click, and then a stream blew out. Sera let out a startled yelp, quickly shutting the fire off with her mental command, sighing. She'd need an extra bottle of water for today's mission, then, wouldn't she?
Honestly, it was such a hassle. She worked best with candy and sugar - how was she supposed to keep precious Kasumi-chan safe without it? Though truth be told, she was usually working alongside the leader, Blade, more often than not - Kasumi-chan was instead with that robotics guy, Anders, right? As the second in command, Sera was often awake earlier than most, and that did nothing to stop her bad mood from growing worse.
"Alright, who was it?" Sera growled menacingly, loudly. She wouldn't just let some stupid kids get away with stealing her candy, that was ridiculous! Why didn't they go and fight, then, huh? And then Sera heard it, that little snicker in the corner, that scampering of feet. Honestly, did anyone really think they were just gonna get away that easily? Sera bolted to her feet in the direction of the laugh and found a little girl with a devilish smile on her face, wearing raggy clothes but still shone with the impish innocence children seemed to have. "Ah, c'mon, I totally thought I got away this time!"
This was Yuka, one of the girls Sera personally saved on a previous mission, bringing her back to base. She was an orphan, like many people were, and seemed to develop a liking to the fire girl. In truth, Sera was fond of Yuka too, and would be happy to keep the little snot safe. Except on days like this, of course. "Yukaaaaaa." Sera hissed menacingly, lifting the child up by her collar. "Don't. Ever. Take. My. Candies. Got it?" Yuka nodded, giggling, knowing there was no real danger. Sera sighed, putting her back down, knowing she'd definitely do it again just for kicks. It happened so often Sera couldn't keep count anymore.
Anyways, there were more important things to worry about, as Yuka scampered off to play with the other children. The team was supposed to assemble for another mission, and the fire girl was very excited to re-enter the fray. More than candy, and almost as much as Kasumi-chan, Sera loved fighting. It was her one real skill, and her favorite pasttime. Hell if she'd ever miss an opportunity to go hunt for zombies. So she made her way to the gates, spotting the leader, Blade, hanging out, already with a cigar. Sera waved to him with a little grin, still annoyed at how much taller he was than her.
"Yo." Sera said cheerfully, shoving her hands in her pockets, bag full of the necessities slung over her shoulder. "That brat, Yuka, stole the last candy again, so we're gonna need to get more. Hope that's not a problem, Hendrix."
