Just what had Lir stolen from the Academy? He glanced back at Ada and her soldiers. Their armor and weapons did prickle his skin with their very presence the way they would have if they had been made of Embrium. Arrogant as always, he noted with some amusement. Ada thought she could overwhelm them with sheer numbers.

"You are a Spellsword now? Impressive. I never cared to learn the way of the sword. I was always much too attached to my staff," he spoke conversationally as though they were discussion potions recipes. He took out the bottle of Magi's Bane. The soldiers shifted, as though they were preparing for him to throw it at them. He suppressed the urge to snort. He could conjure fire well enough to make alchemical grenades redundant. With a flourish, he downed the bottle in record time, smiling as he felt the warmth of magic envelop his body. He knew that soon, it would burn him like the fires of the hells some religions warned the world about, but now, he could only marvel at the feeling of strength it gave him. His eyes glowed a bright blue.

With a shout of panic, a group of soldiers charged at him, breaking the formation, but Antius easily batted them away with the stereotypical fireball, scattering their burning bodies like pins in the game he once read that gnomes played which they called Elf Bowling amusingly enough. He twirled his staff.

"I advise you to let us pass or prepare for a battle where our mastery of magic will determine the day."
