Kate landed a solid hit on Brianna’s jaw, smiling broadly when she heard a satisfying crack. Kate always knew that she and Alice were stronger than most the other kids there age, which Kate always theorised was due to them having a body builder dad or something. Generally Kate tried to hold back and blend in. Not tonight though, she was in no state of mind to hold back.
Though before she could land another hit on Brianna, the larger girl kicked out Kate’s leg. Kate landed on her hands and knees just in time to take Brianna’s knee to her side. Though when Brianna tried to do the same with her boot, Kate grabbed her foot and twisted until Brianna landed on the ground next to her. With a grin Kate jumped up over Brianna and grabbed her hair and the two started tousling on the ground. Kate took a few more blows to her side but she made sure Brianna got the worst of it.
However before either of them could get too hurt a sharp whistle cut through the air, causing both of the now dirt stained girls to pause in place. "Ladies, I'm sure whatever your grievance with one another can wait." Both girls pushed away from each other as if the other were poison. Jumping to their feet they looked around to see a perfectly handsome British guy had made his way to the front of the crowd. Brianna gave Kate a look as she edged past her, even running a hand through her tangled mess of hair. So perfectly sure the attractive guy was here for her. "I'm afraid I need to borrow Ms. Grey here for a moment. So please Katherine if you come with me this'll only take a moment. Oh, and I'll also need to speak with your sister as well. If you could be so kind as to call her here, it'd be much appreciative. I have urgent matters to discuss with the both of you." Kate gave Brianna a smug look as she moved to walk past her over to the guy. Though Brianna stuck out a foot causing Kate to stumble a little. Which in a bit of a knee jerk reaction, Kate threw an elbow into the blonde’s side. Then they were on the precipice of another fight.
Before that though, they were once again stopped by an outside influence. “Hey, Brianna, smile for the camera!” Kate gave a proud smile as she saw her sister standing high up above everyone with that damned camera in hand. After Alice got a few snaps, Kate looked to Brianna who had a ugly, bloody cut across her jaw, real roughed up hair and even more blood spewing from her nose. Then Kate let out a full bellied laugh. She’d been on the receiving end of Alice’s ‘surprise photography’ many, many times. Now she was just glad that camera was trained on someone else for Kate’s gain.
Kate watched her sister just long enough to see her safe on the ground before she turned back to the handsome Brit from before. Though she only saw his back. Peering around it she saw him grabbing a guy’s arm in what looked like a painful lock. Not just any guy either it was Mark their school’s quarterback and all round douche bag. Kate would know, they’d hooked up once or twice since she’d moved here. Her eyebrows raised in shock as she watched him twist. The guy hadn’t looked like a fighter. "So, let me let you in on a little secret. A bruised ego mends faster than a broken arm. You're gonna walk away right now before I get really angry, are we clear?" Once Mark agreed, the guy grabbed his pinky and bent it back until Kate heard it break. Her jaw fell open.
Then he turned back to her with an all too casual tug on his jacket. If Kate had just beaten a guy that good she’d be teeming with pride, not shrugging it off. "Terribly sorry about that luv, men and their bravado. Hope you understand. Shall we go someplace to talk Katherine? We have important matters to attend to."
Kate frowned a little before flashing him coy smile and trying to wipe some of the blood off her face. “Okay, so long as you promise to teach me that little move there,” She said with a flirtatious tone of voice reaching up to place her hand on his arm. “We can go wherever you want.” Though in all seriousness, she did really want to learn how he did that.
“Kate, you’re going to have to flirt another day, we have to go now!” Kate groaned taking back her hand before it touched him. Then she flashed him a cheeky grin, “Although, my mother did raise me not to talk to strangers.” She winked at him before racing off to hook her arm through Alice’s and walk them both back inside. Though she did yell over her shoulder, "And it's Kate. Not Katherine."
“Did you see that Alice!” Kate said with a laugh. She leaned in closer to Alice’s ear so that she could be heard. “I totally got her back tenfold for today. Plus you got photographic evidence of it all, what a good little sister you are.” Kate loved Alice, so it didn’t matter what happened next or where they got sent, so long as they were together, Kate believed nothing bad could happen. Whilst they were negotiating the crowded house, Kate sneaked a look over her shoulder to look for the English guy. There was something about him she couldn't quite put her finger on.
That was when she ran into a girl holding a cup at a precarious tilting angle. The cup bounced out of her hand, dropping it's contents on an unsuspecting curly haired boy. Kate gave a shrug to the guy with an unaffected look. "Too bad so sad. Might want to get that cleaned up." Then she turned back to Alice, "C'mon, let's go Alice."
